Public Health Scotland is a new organisation between the Scottish Government and Local Government, working in partnership, to provide leadership to improve and protect the health and wellbeing of the people of Scotland.

Public Health Scotland launched 1st April 2020 with the formal status of a National Special Health Board employing around 1100 people, and with an annual budget of around £60 million, Public Health Scotland will provide authoritative information and services to support people and communities across Scotland. It will lead the national response to unforeseen health emergencies and will contribute to national and local government policy through its provision of robust data and intelligence.

A very exciting opportunity has arisen for a Learning and Development Officer to join the Workforce Development team at Public Health Scotland. We are looking for a motivated and driven individual who is capable of providing operational and professional support, guidance and coordination for the delivery of a range of digital public health learning projects across Scotland.

Reporting to the Learning and Development Manager you will actively contribute to the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of multiple digital learning projects and activities.

A key focus of this role is to provide advice on digital approaches relating to all aspects of learning and development, and propose new opportunities to deliver our strategic digital learning objectives.

You will bring positivity, passion, energy and innovation to the role.

We are looking for someone who has/is:

•    Resilient, flexible, open and adapts quickly
•    Effective and confident analytical and communications skills
•    Knowledge and experience in learning technologies, authoring tools, VLE platforms
•    Responsible and takes ownership for the implementation of learning technologies as part of the teams delivery plan
•    Initiative and is effectively able to take forward and lead on projects with both internal colleagues and external stakeholders
•    Committed to the development of self in the field of learning and development.

Salary placement will start at the bottom point of the scale unless individuals have previous NHS experience.
