37.5 hours per week – Full Time, Permanent

Applications are invited for a 37.5 hour permanent Band 5 Occupational Therapist post based at the Royal Northern Infirmary working within the community integrated team.  

This exciting opportunity to work within an established team of Occupational Therapists in a community based setting. The focus for this post is provision of complex occupational therapy assessment and interventions to help maximise client function and independence focusing predominantly on rehabilitation and the provision of equipment and adaptations.  The post holder will work across a variety of community rotations (including Community Hospital inpatients/Community Neighbourhood Teams/Enhanced Community Services) and work with secondary care - this will be to facilitate earlier hospital discharges/prevention of hospital admissions, and with an opportunity to work collaboratively with local day care services.

You will be expected to act independently to provide a full comprehensive service of assessment, diagnosis, treatment/appropriate management, onward referral and discharge to a complex range of patients referred to the service.   

You will work within Multidisciplinary Teams, supervise Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioners, and Occupational Therapy  students. Regular supervision is provided (including peer supervision opportunities) and opportunities for ongoing professional development are encouraged.

A Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy is required as is current HCPC registration.

You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations and patient residences, so a full current driving license is essential. ​​​​​​​
