We are pleased to offer this exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join us. You will join an established, forward thinking pharmacy team responsible for delivering high quality medicines management and clinical pharmacy input to a range of primary care settings. The NHS Shetland pharmacy team is renowned for implementing new and innovative ways of working and for developing the roles and responsibilities of pharmacy staff.

This role will be based in Primary Care and will be central in effective provision of pharmaceutical care across Shetland. Pharmacists in Shetland are well established members of the multidisciplinary team, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop the role of the General Practice Clinical Pharmacist further, by becoming a prescriber and developing advanced clinical skills.

The role will include providing patient facing clinical services as well as supporting the delivery and development of the pharmacotherapy component of the Scottish GP Contract. Previous experience working at or towards this level is desirable but not essential as training and support will be given including Primary Care Vocational Training, General Practice Clinical Pharmacist Advanced Practice Framework, Independent prescribing, clinical history taking and examination skills.

The wider pharmacy team includes other pharmacists and technicians in Primary Care, Community Care, Secondary Care and Community Pharmacy with varying specialisms and interests. The post allows great opportunities to work in an integrated way across all sectors for the benefit of the patient. Shetland is a good adopter of telehealth solutions, providing an extra dimension to the delivery of medicines management to more remote patients.

Rise to the challenge and enjoy the opportunity - Shetland is a wonderful place to live and work.  Shetland offers low pollution, low crime, excellent schools, great leisure facilities, unique wildlife and amazing scenery, whilst still only a short flight away from the UK mainland.  To find out more about living and working in Shetland go to www.shetland.org and https://spark.adobe.com/page/lhvJwlTRLp7Lx/"
