Are you interested in improving the health and social care the people of Scotland receive? Would you like to work with the national improvement organisation and have the opportunity to influence programmes of work that really make a difference to people’s lives? If the answer is yes, then we have a great role for you here at Healthcare Improvement Scotland, where we support NHS Scotland and independent healthcare providers to improve and deliver the highest standard of health and social care to the people of Scotland.
We are now recruiting for a Programme Manager to work across the Medical and Nursing, Midwifery & Allied Health Professions (NMAHP) Directorates. These are both small teams with big ambitions and have a drive to help the organisation make the biggest contribution it possibly can to improving the care experience provided in Scotland.
The Programme Manager is a pivotal member of our team and crucial to making our work a success. You will be working closely with the NMAHP Director and a diverse group of stakeholders to ensure the organisation’s programmes benefit from the right kind of clinical expertise to support the greatest improvements in care possible. The NMAHP and Medical Director share accountabilities to assure the Board on Clinical and Care Governance so you will also be working closely with the Medical Director and Directorate staff.
You will need proven and demonstrable programme management experience, be educated to degree level (or have equivalent experience) and be highly skilled in the planning and organisation of a demanding programme schedule. You will also be a confident communicator with great people skills, able to develop and manage relationships with a range of stakeholders, be creative and innovative in problem solving and be an effective team player. You will be working as an integral part of a small team and look forward to helping shape and manage the work programme of the directorate, its impact on the organisation’s work and ultimately on the care people in Scotland receive.
We are a national organisation, with national influence, and this role may require some travel across Scotland to support the successful delivery of a variety of programmes with multiple stakeholders.
We welcome applications from those with the right experience from within or out with the health and social care sector. So if you would like to join us in improving the health and social care for people across Scotland, we look forward to hearing from you.
Closing Date: 11 June at midnight
Interviews will be held on 21st June
