As well as formal education of trainees, the Department also delivers CPD for all our frontline staff utilising a range of current educational approaches.
Due to the retirement of the current post-holder and exciting opportunity has emerged to lead our whole system of education, training and CPD throughout the service.
The postholder will be responsible for the leadership, development and operational delivery of all educational activities with SAS, ensuring our staff receive the most up to date education available. The post holder will respond to current need, as well as projecting and developing strategic plans to prepare the educational and professional development requirements of our future workforce. The post holder will lead in developing and supporting our education infrastructure for the future to meet the requirements of the legislative bodies and the goals of our developing 2030 strategy and beyond.
The post holder will be educated to Masters Level, have senior experience in an educational field and able to demonstrate a strong track record of developing and successfully delivering an educational and CPD curriculum within a healthcare context. They will have a track record in relation to managing staff and financial resources, as well as leading work with key stakeholders. Experience of working within ambulance service is desirable but not essential.
There is flexibility to the location of the post and there will be an option for the postholder to work from one of our Education Centres. Agile working will be encouraged.
