The postholder is accountable to the ADP and the Scottish Government to develop performance and service delivery objectives within all community planning partner organisations in South Lanarkshire which:


  •     Safeguards and promotes the interests of children, young people and families affected by substance misuse
  •     Reduces the level of alcohol and drug related harm
  •     Develops appropriate services and support for people with alcohol and drug related problems


The postholder is responsible for promoting quality improvement and developing Service Level Agreements within a range of third sector providers (e.g. Addaction) and takes a lead role on a range of programmes which address performance issues within the  NHS Lanarkshire Alcohol and Drug Services (LAaDS) and South Lanarkshire Council Substance Misuse Team.


The postholder is also responsible for managing 3 ADP support staff to ensure the co-ordination, development and implementation of the ADP Strategy and Delivery Plan across and within ADP partner organisations in order to positively impact of the whole health and social care economy.
The South Lanarkshire Alcohol and Drug Partnership is a strategic partnership with representation at senior office level from NHS Lanarkshire,  South Lanarkshire Council, Police Scotland , Scottish Prison Service, Crown Officeand Procurator Fiscal Service, Scottish Fire & Rescue and the voluntary sector.
