This is an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced IT Security / Manager / Consultant with an extensive and varied IT Professional background. The Cyber Security Consultant is a new role within NHS Fife providing senior IT Security related expertise across NHS Fife and its partners. 
NHS Fife is a proactive organisation regarding Cyber Resilience, and there is an established roadmap to help ensure that NHS Fife achieves and maintains the assurance standards provided by NIS Regulations, Cyber Essentials and the CIS Controls. You will manage and develop a small team of Cyber Security Technicians and Resilience Specialists. Also, work closely with the Technical Services Teams, providing expert guidance on threats & vulnerabilities and robust preventative measures and response plans.
You will review and manage the IT Security considerations of new and existing applications / systems, database systems; support processes and digital service improvements which support both the clinical and administrative functions of NHS Fife and partners. Thus ensuring requirements are prioritised in line with the strategic aims of NHS Fife and approved through appropriate governance. You will have the capability required to steer and manage the IT Security considerations of new digital solutions delivery, including secure architectural design, and smooth transition into operational service.  
You will be a team player with excellent work ethic, communication, negotiation, leadership and organisational skills. You will have the knowledge, skills and competencies typically gathered during the performance of a similar role or have the varied experience and demonstrable aptitude for this post. You will need to be a relentless self-starter and also have a very keen interest in IT technologies and digital techniques and be willing to develop professional networking with colleagues nationally. You must be able to travel throughout Fife regularly and sometimes across Scotland as required.
A high level of English language competency and communication skills is necessary to perform this role safely and effectively.  Participation in a 24/7 on-call rota is required along with providing any relevant out of hours support required by the organisation.
