This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant, dynamic and growing team of Arts Therapists who provide Arts Therapies in a variety of NHS settings across the Lothian’s. We currently provide Art or Music Therapy to all the Adult Acute wards on the Royal Edinburgh Hospital site and we now have the opportunity to extend the service to Older Adults, meeting the recommendations of the Royal College of Psychiatry (Quality Network for Older Adults Mental Health Services, standard 3.3.4, p. 28)
The vision of the NHS Lothian Arts Therapies Service is to provide high quality, evidence based, cost effective interventions to those who might struggle to make use of or access more verbally focused therapeutic care. We are embedded within teams and work closely with our professional colleagues from a variety of different backgrounds including our Arts in Health colleagues. We also offer skills training and consultation where requested. We consistently gather feedback from those who use our services and from other professionals we work with and shape our service accordingly.
I:I line management and supervision would be included within the role and the successful candidate is also welcome to join monthly team supervision on Wednesday afternoons and quarterly service development days.

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
Please note: As this post is part-time the salary will be pro-rata.
