An exciting opportunity has arisen for a registered nurse to enhance their skills and knowledge within the specialist field of adult diabetes.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate their interest in diabetes by recent experience or relevant qualifications.
The post holder will join a dynamic team based at the Diabetes centre Mountainhall treatment centre. Providing clinical support across a variety of settings inpatients, outpatients and community care for patients with diabetes.
The role includes provision of Nurse support at routine outpatient clinics for example patients with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes seeking to improve glycaemic control insulin pump clinics; transition clinics; Group consultations; telephone and email consultations.
Education is a key aspect of supporting self-management in diabetes and you will join the Specialist Nurses in delivering structured education programmes for patients. For example Type 1 diabetes DAFNE programme Type 2 diabetes DESMOND programme. Supporting the in-patient Diabetes Specialist Nurse / team in managing routine and urgent ward referrals are also included in this job.
We are seeking a nurse who is committed to providing an excellent standard of patient care, and to their own professional development. S/he will have excellent communication skills.
The successful candidate will be joining a growing service constantly seeking to meet the needs of an expanding local population and therefore a flexible attitude and willingness to trial new initiatives is important.
