The Decontamination Team provide highly specialised, expert decontamination advice, guidance and support on a range of decontamination of reusable medical devices. This role supports the Decontamination Team in its work to progress the decontamination agenda on behalf of the Scottish Government Health Directorate through the provision and application of a sound, technical knowledge and experience in decontamination, to a range of projects. Specifically, the projects within the remit of the Decontamination Programme Collaborative Group (DPCG), which relate to addressing national contingency and capacity of Central Decontamination Units
You will be educated to degree level in e.g. microbiology, engineering, nursing or pharmacy and have on-going professional development in decontamination or a related subject to postgraduate diploma level, or have worked have proven experience in managerial level at Central Decontamination Units.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with ability to deal with staff at all levels, coupled with a good methodical approach to working with data and information are required. The post holder will have good presentation skills. Influential skills and evidence of good working relationship with CDU communities in Scotland is essential.
This post is offered on a fixed term/secondment basis, 3 days per week over 9 months.
