Consultant Orthodontist
University Hospital Wishaw
An opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Orthodontist to join our well established and highly motivated NHS Lanarkshire Orthodontic team. The service aims to deliver high quality orthodontic care in a patient centered environment for complex and multidisciplinary cases.
While this post will be based at University Hospital Wishaw there may be a requirement for the successful applicant to work across NHS Lanarkshire’s acute sites.
There is excellent nursing and technical support from our onsite Maxillofacial laboratories and there are opportunities to be involved in training.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, and should possess Membership in Orthodontics and have undertaken both an accredited 3 year training pathway and hold or be within six months of obtaining the intercollegiate specialty fellowship examination in orthodontics. Inclusion on the General Dental Council Specialist List in Orthodontics is essential.
This is an exciting time to join NHS Lanarkshire, with the location for University Hospital Monklands’ new hospital identified. Scheduled to open in 2026/27, this brand new state of the art facility and smart campus, will be the digital flagship for acute healthcare within NHS Scotland.
