National Services Division plans, funds and co-ordinates national specialist and screening services on behalf of NHS Boards and the SGHSCD. The National Strategic Networks (NSN’s) are an integral part of a systematic approach to service redesign and improvement, designed to deliver Scottish Government policy aims of improved clinical and other outcomes for patients, families and carers through effective integration. They are responsible and accountable for the effective management of a number of Scottish Government priorities including: Major Trauma, Perinatal, Prison and Police and Veterans Care. The NSN’s are designated through Scottish Government Health and Social Care Directorates (SGHSCD) and national commissioning processes. Fundamental to their success is the use of clinical and other information to drive improvement. The NSN information workstream identifies and delivers information management requirements to enable the delivery of individual network objectives.
NSD seeks a Data Analyst to provide data analysis activities for the NSN portfolio within NSD. The postholder will be part of a team delivering a high-quality information management service to around seven national strategic networks across Scotland. The postholder is responsible to the NSN Senior Information Manager for providing a comprehensive range of data, analytical and user support to a portfolio of strategic networks and associated projects.
Applicants should be educated to degree level in a numerate subject or have equivalent experience ideally gained working in relevant role within the NHS environment. Knowledge of analytical and visualisation software such as advanced Excel and PowerBI is highly desirable. The post holder will have a confident and self-motivated attitude, good organisational skills and be able to prioritise their own workload in order that deadlines are met and ensure work is always completed to an exemplary standard. In addition, excellent communication skills are essential to be able to effectively communicate with clinical and non-clinical staff across internal and external organisations. The successful candidate will have proven analytical and presentation skills, have a good eye for detail and able to work under own initiative.
This post is based in Edinburgh albeit currently in a working from home capacity.
