Band 3
Full Time – 37.5 hours per week
Salary Range £21,709 - £23,603 per annum (pro rata)
Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £1,971 per annum (pro rata)
Fixed Term until 31st March 2022
Based at Lerwick Health Centre
Are you are an experienced Health Care Assistant or Social Care Worker, who is enthusiastic about your role and wants to make a difference? If so we want you to join us working as part of the nursing team delivering care to the population of Shetland in a community setting.
We have a fixed term vacancy based at Lerwick Health Centre for a Band 3 Community Health Care Support Worker, preferably with General Practice or Community experience, but training will be provided for suitable applicants. We will consider applicants wishing to job share this post.
Working under the direction of the Registered Nurses in the community and primary care team and in partnership with the existing Primary Health and Social Care Teams you will help support the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of General Practice Nursing care for the patients, families and carers of the Practice population with whom you are working. You will have the opportunity to develop your own clinical skills and knowledge in Health Screening, Preventative Medicine and other Public Health initiatives, and develop IT, audit and administrative skills to support the nursing team. There may also be opportunities to work within other aspects of the community nursing service such at the Integrated Care or Community Nursing teams to gain wider skills and knowledge or additional working hours.
It is essential that you are a car driver with access to your own vehicle for work purposes as on occasions you will be required to work at an alternative venue.
This is a fixed term contract until 31st March 2022. The reason for the fixed term contract is maternity leave cover.
