This Practice Development Nurse vacancy in Primary Care Services in Prison Healthcare (PHC) is a new and exciting Band 7 opportunity to join the Practice Development Team working across three prisons, as well as the Practice Development Teams for Adult Services, within NHS GGC. As an integral member of the Primary Care Team you will be line managed and professionally accountable to the Professional Nurse Lead (PNL) for Primary Care in PHC with the responsibility for supporting and driving forward the priorities of the professional nursing workplan. The PDN is required to work alongside members of the Primary Care Teams to quality assure and support professional and practice development in the nursing workforce in PHC. You will provide visible leadership, coaching and mentoring, contributing to the continuous quality improvement of care delivery in PHC. You will lead on specific areas of work as delegated by the PNL and will focus on key areas such as expert practice, professional leadership, education, training and development, service development, research, audit and evaluation, change management, quality improvement and person centred care. This will be delivered through a highly visible presence in PHC and will be underpinned by demonstrable values based approach to the delivery of compassionate, safe and effective patient care. It is essential that you are a Registered Nurse (Adult Branch) and have evidence of CPD with direct relevance to this post. You must have experience working within Primary Care practice and development at a senior level. A flexible approach to shift patterns is required due to the 7 day a week provision in PHC - however the majority of working will be Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm.
