COVID-19 Tester (Ref: 58576)
Fixed Term until 31/03/2022
Full-time – 37 ½ hours per week (may include evenings and weekends)
Band 3- Salary Range £21,709 - £23,603 per annum
Distant Islands Allowance of £1,971 per annum
The Public Health Team provides public health services to NHS Shetland and the population of Shetland. The role of the team is to promote, improve and protect the health and wellbeing of the people of Shetland, to prevent ill-health and to reduce inequalities in health.
The post holder will perform viral swabbing for COVID-19 as part of the COVID-19 testing team, including swabbing at the Pod and as part of mass testing. They will undertake other tasks as directed to support the local test and protect response. The post holder must be able to work without direct supervision, adhering to strict procedures at all times. They must hold or be working towards SVQ level 3 in care or equivalent.
The post holder must have a driving licence and access to own vehicle for work use as you may be required to work in various areas across Shetland in cases of mass testing.
This contract is for a fixed-term until 31st March 2022. The reason for the fixed-term contract is to support the COVID-19 response. If you wish to apply for this post as a secondment opportunity, you will need to discuss with your line manager before submitting an application.
