Job Advert

This is an exciting opportunity for a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join the Tertiary Eating Disorder Specialist Service (TESS).  The team is based in Coatbridge, but offers a pan-Lanarkshire service.  The team is psychology lead but multi-disciplinary in nature and also includes psychiatry, nursing, dietetics, and occupational therapy.
The service works directly with adults and their families/carers who have severe eating disorders resulting in complex needs.  We also have an adapted criteria for young people (in late adolescence) to promote early intervention and to be able to offer evidence based treatments specifically relevant to this client group.  The service endeavours to offer innovative treatment to people living in the community (wherever possible) and is able to offer intensive treatment for time limited periods where required.     The team also has a role to support other tiers of the NHSL Eating Disorder pathway via training, supervision, consultation and joint working.
The successful candidate will provide highly specialist psychological work and contribute to the assessment, formulation and delivery of evidence based psychological treatments for people with eating disorders (and related comorbidities) and their families, as part of an MDT approach.  TESS is able to offer a range of psychological approaches including CBT, FBT, EMDR, ST, CAT, SSCM and BFT.  Training, consultation and supervision will also be a core part of their role.  The post holder will also take a key role in supporting the Consultant Clinical Psychologist/team leader with service clinical governance activity and will have an aptitude for leadership skills.
This is an exciting time to work in the field of eating disorders with the recent publication and/or current development of national eating disorder guidelines and reviews.  The post holder will therefore take an active role alongside the Consultant Clinical Psychologist/team leader and MDT in implementing and translating these to local need within NHS Lanarkshire.  Thus service devlopment will be a key part of the role.  Regular supervision and CPD opportunities will be available.  Line management will be via the service Consultant Clinical Psychologist/team leader.
Due to the current restrictions of COVID19 a proportion of the post holder’s work will be conducted via video/telephone call.
Applicants must possess a full valid driving licence.

Informal enquiries regarding the post will be welcomed by Dr Jo Waine, Consultant Clinical Psychologist / TESS Team Leader, on .
