Band 4 Allied Health Professions Health Care Support Worker
Hours: 37.5 per week (full-time), permanent position.
Location: CAMHS, Links Unit, Aberdeen
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Allied Health Professions (AHP) Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) to work within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service in Grampian. The AHP team provides assessment and treatment of children and young people (0-18) with mental health and neurodevelopmental conditions across NHS Grampian. The team has a skill mix of Band 7 and 6 AHPs offering a broad range of competencies, knowledge and clinical experience. This post is full-time, however, flexible working is encouraged and a car driver is preferable to this role.
The post holder will be based within the CAMHS Links Unit on the City Hospital site in Aberdeen but will be expected to travel across the NHS Grampian area as required. The individual will primarily work within the AHP team in CAMHS and contribute to timely assessment and intervention of children and young people. Planning and facilitating group based interventions will be an important component of this role. Opportunities also exist to work with 3rd sector colleagues in providing appropriate interventions as part of CAMHS pathways.
There will be opportunities for professional development (CPD) and regular supervision will be provided. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills. They will be able to demonstrate use of initiative and have experience of working in either mental health services or with children, young people and families.
