This is a part time, 22.5 hours fixed term for 6 months.
Within a multi-disciplinary team you will have responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care needs of older adults with Mental Health problems. The emphasis will be on care and treatment using validated psychological approaches and working as an integrated service to meet the complex needs of this client group. You will be responsible for providing supervision to untrained staff and nursing students
The post holder provides a service to a defined geographical area for patients who are experiencing mental health problems and also has a key role in promoting and developing the role of the Community Psychiatric Nurse.
You will provide high quality, culturally sensitive and effective specialist nursing to older people with mental illness living in the community by working in partnership with service users, care providers and other agencies.
You will also provide triage, assessment, ongoing interventions and evaluation of these, participates in discharge planning processes and facilitates the coordination of care, working collaboratively with patients using a biopsychosocial model within community OPMH services. It is essential you are a Registered Mental Nurse (RMN) with live NMC registration.
Experience in Older adults Mental Health is desirable. A current Driving Licence is required for this post.
The shift pattern is; 9-5 Monday - Friday
