NHS Fife’s Community Mental Health Nursing Service is seeking motivated and dynamic mental health nurses for the Community Mental Health Team in Kirkcaldy.
Fife’s CMHT’s are undergoing innovative changes to the care and treatment for community-based secondary care patients. We are developing a comprehensive complex-trauma and personality disorder pathway in which we can deliver a skills-based approach through; Safe and Able to Cope, Decider Skills, Emotional Resources Group and are planning the roll-out of Structured Clinical Management which will complete the pathway. Another significant development is the creation of Physical Healthcare Clinics offering: Clozapine, Lithium, and High Dose Monitoring as well as ADHD and Eating Disorder health checks.
We have embraced new technological approaches in the delivery of these, as well as continuing to deliver face to face interventions. The CMHT’s continue to provide quality evidence-based interventions for those experiencing major mental illness and disorder.
Based at Whyteman’s Brae Hospital, the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) in Kirkcaldy provides a service covers the neighbouring Kinghorn, Burntisland and Coaltown of Wemyss. Kirkcaldy CMHT has established a multi-disciplinary assessment clinic that demonstrates the team’s close professional working.
Applications for these posts are invited from experienced RMN’s, able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of working with adults presenting with a range of mental health problems as well as a sound understanding of their physical health needs that can include prescribed treatment. As an enthusiastic mental health nurse you will join this service and will work within a multi-disciplinary team committed to partnership working with strong links to other secondary care and community services.
The successful applicant will have experience of team working, problem solving, flexibility, high-level communication skills, continuing personal development and change management. The post holder will have day to day responsibility for managing their workload; assessment, care planning, evaluation and delivery of care to patients presenting with a variety of mental health problems in both virtual and face to face settings.
