The Chronic Pain Team are seeking to recruit a specialist chronic pain physiotherapist to support the expansion of the current chronic pain service in both secondary and primary care MDT teams. This post is an exciting opportunity for an innovative and motivated physiotherapist to work closely within our expanding expert MDT team.

We are looking for a motivated physiotherapist to support and bring innovating ideas to this established but continually developing service.

We are seeking an HPC registered experienced physiotherapist with advanced knowledge/experience of chronic pain management, with a keen interest in delivering care both face to face, remotely, one to one and as part of groups. This postholder will work collaboratively with secondary and primary care services.

The post holder will independently assess, diagnose, plan and manage the care of complex chronic pain patients within primary and/or secondary care, who would traditionally be seen by the General Practitioner or Secondary care services, working within and beyond the recognised scope of advanced physiotherapy practice.


The post holder will provide advanced theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of chronic pain by supporting the training and development of physiotherapy staff across the operational unit and have key role in service development projects and assisting with research projects within the field of chronic pain


If required and within the clinical capacity of this new role the post holder will support chronic pain delivery out with primary care settings, if required  to support overall service needs in e.g. physiotherapy departments, hospital clinics, as delegated by line manager.

This post will form part of the central Chronic Pain Team, who are traditionally based around Inverness / Invergordon area, although travel throughout Highland area, including A&B may be required in order to meet the needs of the service. A current driving licence is essential as the role may need to be delivered from different locations, if so, a Pool car will be available.

This is a fixed term 37.5 hours per week post, to be worked flexibly to meet the service requirements, with approximately 50 - 60% of the role could be expected to be managed remotely by phone / near me. This is fixed term for 6 months with possibilty of extension.
