This role has both professional leadership and operational management responsibilities for nursing services within the HSCP. The post holder will work closely with the team of professional leaders and managers to develop nursing services within the organisation .The post holder has lead responsibility for overall service management e.g. for sickness absence management, recruitment and selection, the disciplinary and grievance process, professional development of staff, departmental workload monitoring and workforce planning

The post provides professional leadership and advice to all nursing disciplines within area of responsibility and professional advice relating to nursing within the service inclusive of District Nursing Teams, and specialist nurses.  This will involve working in partnership with a range of other community teams inclusive of Practice Nurses , AHPs, local authority partners and other agencies.  This role includes overall operational responsibility for professional practice and the nursing contribution to strategic developments within the HSCP.  This leadership role contributes to the effectiveness of the HSCP through ensuring the nursing teams deliver effective, evidence-based and innovative clinical services.  The post holder will contribute to primary/secondary interface working.

There will be an emphasis on professional and practice development, which delivers clinically effective services in line with the clinical governance and organisational development strategies of the service and the post holder will work closely with the HSCP Professional Nurse Lead to support this.  The post holder will contribute at appropriate forums and work closely with colleagues ensuring a multi agency approach.

The shift pattern for these posts is 9am – 5pm
