Applications are welcome for the above permanent, part time (16 hours per week) post based in Spittal Street Clinic.

The Addiction Treatment & Recovery Care services provide high quality addictions services across the Lothians. It is managed through REAS, within the Edinburgh Integrated Joint Board. The teams are multidisciplinary. There are partnership arrangements with social care and voluntary organisations.

There is one in-patient unit (the Ritson Clinic) with 8 beds based in the Royal Edinburgh Hospital, a quasi-residential rehab programme (LEAP) with 22 places, run in partnership with City of Edinburgh council, and the Harm Reduction Team a BBV prevention and treatment service. ATRC also seconds staff to a young people’s service (ASUS). The Primary Care Facilitation Team (PCFT) is a non-clinical Lothian-wide service which Supports Lothian’s Enhanced Services and a ‘shared care’ model of substance use treatment, the multi-disciplinary and multi-agency care of people affected by problem substance use and blood borne viruses.

4 sessions (16 hours / week). All clinical sessions are in the Harm Reduction Team. The post holder will be an experienced medical practitioner who will provide care to patients with a range of drug and alcohol problems within a BBV Prevention and Treatment Service. He/she will have a special interest in the psychological, physical and social problems of this group.

The post holder will have the skills and knowledge to develop effective communications and working links with the Primary Care Team and Mental Health Services, as well as a wide range of statutory and voluntary agencies.
