CONSULTANT INFECTIOUS DISEASES PHYSICIAN

Looking for a new and exciting challenge? Then think about working in NHS Forth Valley in the heart of Scotland.


The successful candidate will have three main components to their job plan within infectious diseases: specialty ward duties, inpatient and outpatient specialty referrals and running the OPAT service. Candidates with CCT in general internal medicine will be expected to contribute to the general medical receiving rota as well. Candidates with CCT in microbiology or virology will have scope to develop the role in terms of liaison with the laboratory, with infection control and with public health.

Applicants will be in possession of the Royal College of Physicians or equivalent, registered with the General Medical Council specialist register or be within 6 months of the anticipated award of a certificate of completion of training (CCT) or certificate of eligibility for specialist registration (CESR) in Infectious diseases at the time of interview. Applicants are required to have evidence of recent continued academic and professional development. Excellent, communication, listening and organisational skills are essential.
