The Facilities & Estates sector of NHS Grampian provides a wide range of essential services which enable the continuous delivery of safe, high-quality care to patients and supports our staff and the public in our healthcare locations. Our services are delivered by a team of over 2000 NHS staff.
This role provides direct leadership and performance management, through an established management team, for a portfolio of vital support services including domestic services, catering & retail, sterile services, linen, security & site access, porters & grounds, transport & warehouse, working with staff partnership representatives. This role also deputises for the General Manager on a range of important activities.
The successful candidate will act as the lead for health, safety & staff wellbeing for the Facilities & Estates sector and play a key role in controlling infection risks in the healthcare environment.
The role will also be part of NHS Grampian’s system leadership community, participating in cross-system workgroups, providing expert advice on support services and contributing to corporate level decision-making. The role will have the opportunity to influence relevant policies and guidance.
We are seeking to engage a highly motivated and dynamic individual with a deep understanding of health and care provision and a breadth of experience in managing services and team performance.
Suitable candidates will have the ability to lead and support a team of senior managers and to engage constructively with a large and diverse team, fostering a partnership approach to delivering adaptable and sustainable services. Candidates will also have the capacity and skills to enhance the health, safety and wellbeing of our Facilities & Estates team and to coordinate a team approach to minimising infection risks in the healthcare environment.
