NHS Dumfries & Galloway Immunisation Team is looking to appoint a Band 5 Staff Nurses to the Public Health Directorate Immunisation Team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the team modernising the delivery of local vaccinations as part of the Vaccination Transformation Programme.
You will be part of the team as we implement a cradle to grave service, where you will be delivering Pre-school, School Adult and at Risk Flu vaccinations, Pneumococcal, Herpes Zoster vaccinations and Covid 19 vaccine.
You will have a key role in supporting and developing HCSW vaccination programme
The following fixed term posts until 31st March 2022 are available :
Stewarty 60 hours in total varies hours available
Wigtownshire 30 hpw
You will be a first level registered nurse with a substantial amount of post registration experience. You should be motivated and self driven with a commitment to developing and delivering a high standard of care. Previous Immunisation experience is desirable but not essential however you should demonstrate knowledge of the child and adult vaccination programmes and the Greenbook. You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication interpersonal and time management skills and have the ability to work on your own initiative and as a lone worker within a variety of settings within the community. A driving license is essential as applicants will be required to work across the region.
