As part of the NSS Human Resources & Workforce Development Department, the multi-disciplinary Healthy Working Lives Team aim to improve the health, safety and wellbeing of NSS employees. This is achieved through working with the organisation to provide the opportunity, ability, support and encouragement to work in ways and in an environment that allows them to sustain and improve employees’ health and wellbeing.
Healthy Working Lives collects, validates, interprets and disseminates information on occupational health, safety and wellbeing activity and outcomes. High quality information is provided using modern techniques to a number of organisations.
We currently have a vacancy for an experienced Health and Wellbeing Advisor who will be responsible for the delivery of a comprehensive health and wellbeing service to the employees of National Services Scotland and those staff of any external organisations with whom there is a contractual agreement (approx 10,000 staff).
The post holder will have the NEBOSH Diploma Level 4, or an appropriate equivalent health promotion / wellbeing qualification. You will have a broad knowledge of the design and implementation of wellbeing initiatives and support programs associated with both clinical, non-clinical and warehouse working environments. You will be well versed in issues relating to mental and physical health.
Empowerment and improvement of the health and wellbeing for our employees is essential through developing communications, education programs and initiatives across the organisation focusing on mental and physical health. Competent IT skills and the ability to communicate across all levels of management are essential. Evidence of health and wellbeing program development and implementation, personal contribution leading of service planning, redesign projects and quality improvement both a local and national level will be required. The post holder must have flexibility and the ability to react positively to on-going change and demands.
You will be required to attend meetings across Scotland if so required. There will be some travelling with possible overnight stays.
