It leads the national response to unforeseen health emergencies and contributes to national and local government policy through its provision of robust data and intelligence.

The Place & Wellbeing Directorate of PHS is seeking to appoint a Senior Health Improvement Officer (permanent) to work within its Public Mental Health Programme

The post holder will support the development and coordination of a range of projects and contribute to the planning, implementation and evaluation of Public Mental health improvement activities with a wide range of both internal and external stakeholders, in order to contribute to the reduction of health inequalities and improve population health and health equity through a Fairer Healthier Scotland,

The post-holder will be based in the Public Mental Health programme with possible tasking across other areas of Public Health Scotland as well as a range of policy makers and public health/health protection service providers and stakeholders across all sectors in Scotland and beyond.  Salary placement will start at the bottom point of the scale unless individuals have previous NHS experience

Due to our national response to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic there will be an expectation for weekend and/or out of hours working
