Senior Pharmacy Technician – Band 5

Full Time Post 1.0 WTE

Can you help us deliver high quality injectable medicines, on time and in a pleasant and respectful environment?

Our team aseptically prepare over 50,000 injectable medicine doses per year from our state of the art aseptic suite at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow. These items include parenteral nutrition, chemotherapy and clinical trials.

We currently have a team of 25 staff including Support Workers, Technicians and Pharmacists who take great pride in delivering critical medicines across Greater Glasgow & Clyde. However, we are keen to grow our service and, as such we require several new team members to join us, including suitably qualified Pharmacy Support Worker.

Your key duties will include preparation and checking of aseptically prepared items along with formulation and transcription checking of the same. In addition, you will actively contribute to the organisation, preparation and validation of the NHS Greater Glasgow & Clydes CIVAS service which is operated under an MHRA Manufacturers Specials Licence (MSL)

You must be registered with the GPhC. A PACT qualification is desirable as well good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. 

This is a full time post 37.5hrs and will be worked 5/7 days and includes weekend working and participation in the public holiday rotas.

Candidates without a current PACT qualification may be considered as part of a band 4/ 5 initiative.
