Network Lead Clinician / Professional Ambassador - National Strategic Prison Care Network
Fixed term up to 1 year with possible further extension
Up to 3 PAs per week in total
National Services Division (NSD) is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Lead Clinician/Professional Ambassador for the National Strategic Prison Care Network.
Working closely with a range of stakeholders in health, social care and justice organisations, as well as people in the prison environment, the post holder will have a key strategic role in promoting and driving forward the development of an effective, integrated, multidisciplinary service for prison care throughout Scotland.
Applicants will be leaders in their field with experience of working at a strategic level and ideally a national level. A proven record in leading service improvement, ability to work across traditional organisational, geographical and professional boundaries and a demonstrable understanding of the ethos of networks are essential.
Experience of bringing a wide range of partners and agendas together and leading through consensual collaboration is key to the role, as is an understanding of the complex needs of the population in prisons and the wider justice system. Applications would be welcome from candidates from a wide range of professions across the multidisciplinary team.
Applicants must have a current substantive role as an NHS Scotland employee and have the support of their Clinical Director/Head of Nursing/Service Lead for this post to be incorporated into their job plan. The employing NHS Board will be recompensed for the agreed sessional commitment on the basis of evidence of actual backfill costs incurred to release the individual to fulfil the Lead Clinician role requirements.
