Applications are invited for the full time permanent post of Band 7 Lead Superintendent Radiographer at Dr Gray’s Hospital, Elgin. Located in the north east of Scotland, 40 miles from Inverness and 70 miles from Aberdeen, Elgin is the market town for the county of Moray and in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who will integrate into a friendly team of professionals in this 120 bed district general hospital. This fully digital department provides a General Radiography service, including 24 hour A&E cover, Dental, Fluoro, CT, DEXA and Ultrasound.
The department provides services to Orthopaedics, Medical, General Surgery, A&E, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and also Theatres. There are busy outpatient clinics with a number of visiting consultants from Aberdeen and Inverness, as well as the 24/7 A&E service including CT.
The department currently operates a hybrid on-call/shift system which the successful candidate is expected to participate in. Development of a permanent shift system is underway. As part of an elective care project, plans to install MRI facility at Dr. Gray’s Hospital are well developed, with expected install 2022/23. The service also caters for GP practices in the area, with part-time imaging performed at 4 community sites.
The successful candidate will have had recent supervisory or management experience within an imaging environment. They will be familiar with Quality Assurance and Clinical Audit programmes, as well as staff development programmes, e.g TURAS. The department is committed to professional development and CPD.
