An exciting oppurtunity has arisen for a HCSW to join the Surgical Specilaties Department at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. This post will provide experience initially in general surgery and urology in preparation for working in a dedicated pallitive care ward. As part of a multidisciplinary team the post holder will carry out routine personal care for patients and assigned duties to maintain hygiene, in support of and supervised by a Registered Nurse. The ability of undertaking these tasks within a busy environment is necessary. The postholder will ensure a person centred approach to care delivery maintaining safe and effective quality at all times within the ward. Knowledge of personal care and related procedures or previous work/experience in a health or social environment would be beneficial. Effetive communication skills both written and verbal are essential with the ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.Working knowledge of basic IT skills required. The successful applicant will be required toundertake on th job training, induction and mandatory HCSW standards. The shift pattern for this post is 11.5 hours/ rotational Mon- Sun
