Applications are invited to become an undergraduate apprentice as a healthcare scientist in Cardiac Physiology. The trainee will complete a four-year training program which involves both hospital and clinical education resulting in the achievement of a BSc Hons degree in Clinical Cardiac Physiology at Glasgow Caledonian University.
You will be employed within the Cardiac Physiology service here at NHS Golden Jubilee on full time basis for duration of course. This post is funded by the Scottish Government as part of a national program to increase qualified Cardiac Physiologists in Scotland. This post will be paid in line with Annex 21. You will receive practical on the job training from our highly skilled and experienced team and learn how to perform a range of Cardiac diagnostic tests including Electrocardiogram (ECG), Exercise Tolerance Test (ETT) and Ambulatory Cardiac Rhythm Monitoring. You will also be introduced to the more advanced work of the department such as Cardiac Rhythm Management, Echocardiography and Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI).
Applicants should hold minimum of Higher Mathematic, Higher English and two of the three sciences at Higher level from Biology (or Human Biology or Biotechnology), Chemistry and Physics. All grades must be a minimum combination of AABB. If Physics is not held at Higher level, then must be held at a minimum of Standard Grade I or II or National 5 level.
