An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist to join our friendly and enthusiastic stroke team at Perth Royal Infirmary.  This post is full time, 37.5 hours per week.  Flexible working/job-share would be considered.


The successful candidate will have extensive experience working as an Occupational Therapist within stroke/neurological rehabilitation services, be able to demonstrate excellent clinical leadership in the specialist assessment and therapy skills for stroke/neurological patients. 


You will be responsible for supporting and leading the day to day running of the therapy service, supervising the learning and development of staff and ensuring the provision of high quality person centred care.   A person centred approach throughout the patient`s rehab journey from goal setting through to discharge planning and support self efficacy are fundamental aspects of this post.


You will join an experienced and committed multi professional stroke team in the delivery of an integrated approach to the stroke care and be able to demonstrate an exemplary approach to multidisciplinary team working within an integrated Health and Social Care setting. 


You will be involved in supporting the Occupational Therapy team in delivery of evidence based stroke care, develop and support service improvement both within Occupational Therapy and the wider stroke team, proactively engaging with colleagues across the Occupational Therapy stroke pathway to facilitate consistency of service delivery and innovation.


Perth and Kinross Occupational Therapy Service provides excellent formal and informal supervision, actively supports individual development through performance development review and learning plans, provide a framework for encouraging CPD and promotes innovative practice.


In line with the evidence base and the strategic direction of NHS Tayside, the Allied Health Professions, will be moving towards 7 day working.  This is for improved outcomes and to maximise a person-centred equitable approach to care.  Therefore all new contracts for AHP staff will be for a 5 out of 7 day service/rota to enable the service to be ready to move to a safe and effective 7 day service.
