This is a challenging opportunity to help harness the buying power of more than £2.4 billion spent each year across the NHS in Scotland. National Procurement, the Procurement Centre of Expertise for Health, works in collaboration with health boards to ensure the highest level of patient care through the provision of a wide range of goods and services via a series of best value National Contracts and Distribution Services.
Working within the Equipping Sourcing portfolio the post holder is responsible for delivering a procurement service to NHS Scotland Project Managers as required in relation to major healthcare developments, national screening programmes and other major procurement initiatives. The postholder will provide procurement expertise to a number of complex capital equipping projects resulting in the project being completed on time, to specification and within budget. This can be done as either Lead Buyer for a specific project, or as part of the Team supporting the Lead Buyer on a Project, with both options liable to occur at the same time.
The candidate should have significant demonstrable experience meeting key results in a similar organisational setting and should also be working towards, or have, membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) or equivalent.
The successful candidate(s) must comply with the Mandatory Induction Standards and with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers.
