Inverclyde HSCP is expanding the existing Treatment Room service in order to fully deliver a Community Treatment and Care Service as required by the local Primary Care Improvement Plan and in direct support of the 2018 GMS contract. The post holder will be expected to contribute to, and support the development and delivery of new ways of working to ensure the service can respond to the needs of primary care colleagues and local residents. The Treatment Room and Phlebotomy Service operates within health centres, general practice and domiciliary settings working 5 days per week. The Treatment Room / Phlebotomy Co-ordinator is clinically and managerially responsible for the caseload of patients and leading and managing the treatment room and phlebotomy staff within the HSCP. This service deals with a high turnover of patients with nursing interventions to patients who are ambulant and housebound and are referred from the GP practices, other members of the primary care team or secondary care colleagues. The caseload comprises of patients with a range of complex needs including those requiring care in relation to chronic disease management and the provision of skilled technical interventions e.g. venepuncture, leg ulcer management, complex wounds, & aural micro suction. The post holder will provide reciprocal cover and support for the wider treatment room and phlebotomy teams in the absence of other coordinators/ Charge nurses in order to provide clinical leadership and ensure the continuation of service delivery. Educated to degree level or equivalent you will hold a 1st Level Registration and show evidence of revalidation and CPD. You will have good communication skills (both verbal and written) and demonstrate the ability to work on own initiative and to challenging deadlines. Experience in primary care/community/clinic setting is essential. Previous experience of practice and/ or service development is desirable
