We are looking to recruit an innovative, enthusiastic and self-motivated Occupational Therapist to join the National Brachial Plexus Injury Service based in the South Sector, NHS GG&C. This post encompasses assessment & treatment of complex patients with brachial plexus injury or other conditions affecting the brachial plexus; both in an in-patient & out-patient setting to promote independence. This involves providing upper limb therapy from ward level onwards including providing exercises and splinting as required and then on-going hand therapy as appropriate or appropriate onward referral. Close liaison with other members of the rehabilitation team is essential to optimise outcomes. Patient discussion is required to ensure that they understand the importance of the post op instructions and ongoing support offered. This post also includes new referral screening, onward referral and signposting to appropriate community services as required.
The shift pattern for this post is Monday-Tuesday preferable
