An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Assistant Practitioner to work within the AHP Medical Team at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. The AHP team provides assessment and treatment of adults with a wide range of medical conditions within the downstream medical wards. The team has a skill mix of experienced Specialist Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapists, Rotational Staff, an Assistant Practitioner and HealthCare Support workers offering a broad range of competencies, knowledge and Clinical Experience. This post is part time at 30 hours a week and a car driver is preferable but not essential to this role.
The individual will be responsible for the independent management of their delegated caseload, from initial assessment to discharge. In the instance that patient’s needs change and become more complex, there will be the opportunity to hand them over to the team’s Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists. It will also be expected for the post holder to make onward referrals to relevant community services at hospital discharged. Good time management and confident clinical decision making and an understanding of the role of Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapists is essential for this role. Training opportunities will be supported to carryout relevant competencies and to be involved in team service development projects. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated and enjoys being part of an enthusiastic and hardworking team.
The shift pattern is 5/7.
