We are keen to recruit an enthusiastic Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist to our adult team. The post offers you the opportunity to work in both the acute and community settings, providing direct and indirect patient contact. You will be based within the Therapies Department at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.
The Speech and Language Therapy Adult service is committed to offering you the opportunity to develop your skills and if you are a new graduate, you are expected to complete the Flying Start programme. This is in addition to completing your NQP in your first year. Support is provided through regular clinical supervision, line management and regular team meetings covering quality and operational developments as well as research reviews.
You should be an excellent communicator with staff, patients/carers and their families and be able to build relationships with them whilst recognising and adhering to boundaries. You will be expected to manage your own clinical caseload and work autonomously as well as part of a team.
