A permanent Band 8A post has become available for a Clinical/Forensic Psychologist working within the Psychology Department that is embedded within NHS Tayside Mentally Disordered Offenders Service. The post holder will be based at Rohallion Secure Care Clinic, Murray Royal Hospital, Perth and join a well established team comprising of trained Clinical/Forensic Psychologists, a CBT Therapist and Assistant Psychologists.
The post holder will be required to work as an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team providing expert, comprehensive and specialist psychological services to mentally disordered offenders. Depending on the needs of the service, the post holder may be required to provide psychological input across the Forensic Mental Health estate in Tayside (i.e. inpatient low secure care, inpatient medium secure care and/or Forensic Community services). The post holder will also be required to deliver training in psychological problems and treatments to enable other staff groups to develop psychological skills and competencies. Supervision of trainees will also be a part of the post.
The post holder will balance their clinical duties with a research role, service development, consultancy and have access to a structured programme of Departmental continuing professional development. The post holder will work under the management and guidance of an experienced Lead Clinical Psychologist and have access to regular supervision. Prior experience of working with patients within a forensic mental health setting is desirable.
