An opportunity has arisen for 3 full-time permanent Infection Prevention and Control Nurses, delivering a planned programme for infection prevention and control. These positions will be based across NHS Lothian.
The role of the IPCN is to provide specialist knowledge and education in all aspects of Infection Prevention and Control to multidisciplinary teams and services. You must be a Registered Nurse, with current NMC Registration, and willing to undertake additional specialist training e.g. Infection Prevention and Control Specialist Practitioner Qualification. A broad range of clinical experience is desirable, with significant clinical practice. The successful candidate will be supported to gain specialist qualification as an essential part of the role. The post holder may be required to travel between NHS Lothian sites as part of the team.
One of the main qualities for this post is the ability to work as part of a team in a busy health care setting. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential. Applicants should also be able to demonstrate continuing professional development.
