An exciting new opportunity has arisen to join the Pharmacy Education, Research and Development Team based at the Western General Hospital. You will work closely with dynamic and enthusiastic colleagues who are committed to supporting the future of pharmacy.

We are looking for an organised and person-focused team player to support the provision of work-based experiential learning placements across NHS Lothian to student pharmacists attending Robert Gordon University or the University of Strathclyde.

You will provide administrative services to support pharmacist educational facilitators across NHS Lothian in hospital services and general practice, allowing educational facilitators to provide high quality experiential learning placements to student pharmacists.

You will play a key role in the provision of effective communication and data management.


Key tasks:

  • Maintaining up-to-date and accurate databases
  • Communicating with stakeholders (universities, NHS Education Scotland, student pharmacists and educational facilitators)
  • Managing experiential learning queries
  • Updating and formatting experiential learning resources

You should have experience of working with computers, experience of using the Internet and Microsoft Office packages (Including Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams), have good written and oral communication skills and have a desire to help people.

Opportunities exist for flexible working hours; however specific hours are required during academic term time.  This post is particularly suited to those looking for school time hours.
