The Commercial Team Manager (Medical) is a fixed term role which has been put in place to enhance the managerial capacity in Procurement in response to the financial savings challenges within the Board which has seen us split our commodity teams into medical and non-medical groups. The Medical team will focus on optimisation of opportunities emerging from national contracts / frameworks, pursuing opportunities for tactical product / supplier switches within existing frameworks and if required, taking forward mini competitions / tenders where required to support the Baord’s Financial Improvement Plan. The Commercial Team Manager (Medical) will lead this workplan of activity and co-ordinate a group of Commodity Managers, Senior Commodity Officers and Commodity Officers. Candidates should be educated to masters degree level with a relevant post-graduate standard or equivalent professional qualification or relevant experience. Candidates should possess significant operational and management experience and have significant practical experience in the analysis, specification, development, management and implementation of complex procurement strategies.
