Job Advert

Due to retirement an opportunity has arisen for a phlebotomy supervisor to support the phlebotomy service in North East Fife. This is a small team which provides phlebotomy services to G.P practices in the area and is line managed by the Senior Charge Nurse in the Out Patients Department at Adamson Hospital.
The service is predominantly delivered in the mornings but there is a requirement to cover a weekly afternoon clinic.
You will be responsible for the daily co-ordination and delivery of the service and will be the point of contact for the other phlebotomists within the service.
You must be proficient in venepuncture and be confident in the use of a range of I.T systems. Previous experience of working in a clinical/G.P setting is desirable.
Although you will work predominantly within the same clinics you will be expected to travel between practices and familiarise yourself with the various G.P practices so that you can support and provide appropriate cover, where required, for the other phlebotomists.  You will also be responsible for orientating and supporting new phlebotomists and phlebotomists from the Fife Nurse Bank who are covering the service.
You will be responsible for the delivery of the phlebotomy services within the various clinics in North East Fife therefore an ability to travel is essential. A travel allowance is provided.
This post requires excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.

For informal enquiries please contact Senior Charge Nurse Heather McKellar on 01334 651334

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.
