To ensure that we continue to deliver an exemplary standard of care to our patients, a fixed term/secondment post has become available for 18 months for an Acute Care Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join the Hospital at Night team which provides care throughout NHS Ayrshire and Arran.

As an Acute Care Advanced Nurse Practitioner, you will integrate into the established Acute Care Advanced Practice team, working across medical and surgical boundaries and be the first responder to acutely unwell adults.  You will be responsible for full clinical assessment, initiating investigations, formulating management plans and undertaking appropriate first line interventions.

The Acute Care Advanced Nurse Practitioners will rotate through both Acute Hospital at Night services at University Hospital Ayr and University Hospital Crosshouse. In addition you will rotate through Older Adult sites of Woodland view /Ayrshire central hospital and Biggart Hospitals to allow the development and maintenance of the skill set required for ANP’s in keeping with Transforming Nursing Roles. Where required, you will be provided with a programme of training during your initial period of employment, specifically around – managing the acutely unwell adult, physical health assessment, advanced life support and area specific training.  

You will also demonstrate experience of developing and delivering innovative and creative solutions to underpin service delivery and experience within an appropriate clinical environment is essential together with knowledge and training to degree level.
You will be provided with a programme of training during your initial period of employment, specifically around – managing the unwell adult, physical health assessment and advanced life support, as well as area specific training. Thereafter you will be expected, and supported to complete a Post Graduate Diploma (Advanced Practice) and to continually review, develop and embed your skills in providing high quality services. 
Experience within an appropriate clinical environment is essential together with knowledge and training to degree level.  You will also demonstrate experience of developing and delivering innovative and creative solutions to underpin service delivery.
