As a Physiotherapist with a special interest in the management of persistent pain conditions to work within the specialist pain management service in NHS Ayrshire and Arran, you will be responsible for organising the effective delivery of Physiotherapy Services by providing professional clinical leadership, supervision and line management within the Pain Management Physiotherapy service in NHS Ayrshire and Arran.
With highly specialist clinical skills in the assessment and management of persistent pain conditions, you will have appropriate postgraduate training to Masters Level relevant to the speciality of Pain Management, and an advanced knowledge of managing patients with complex and chronic pain conditions. You should be able to demonstrate advanced skills, musculoskeletal assessment and treatment skills. Leadership/management experience is desirable.
You will be an advanced pain management practitioner with a self-generated caseload incorporating patient diagnosis, assessment and treatment as both a first contact practitioner for the pain management service and for pain management rehabilitation. You will carry out or call on investigations and examinations by other disciplines, in order to complete your assessment. You will provide a highly specialist resource to other healthcare staff/patient/carers and have an active involvement in Clinical Governance, Clinical Effectiveness and Research. You will lead in the development of the pain management physiotherapist specialist service and will be a key contributor to the development of the specialist multi-disciplinary pain management service. Service improvement is an essential part of this role.
You will have a keen interest in personal development and in-service training and participate in national research projects.

It is essential that you possess a Diploma/ BSc/MSc in Physiotherapy and are HCPC registered.
