We are seeking to employ an enthusiastic Support Worker to work within the Learning Disability Complex Needs Unit at Trindlemoss, Irvine. The role of the Unit is to provide 24 hour person centred nursing care, support and supervision to residents who have a learning disability and additional complex needs, including autism, health care needs and behaviours perceived as challenging. The service is part of North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership.
The applicant must have a SVQ 3 in health and social care (or comparable) or equivalent level of experience of working with people with a learning disability and complex needs. Experience of working with people with autism is desirable. The post holder is required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and have the ability to attain the above qualification if not already held.
It is essential that you possess good interpersonal skills and have the ability to work as part of a team. You must be able to demonstrate an understanding of person centered approaches, positive behaviour support and of the health needs of people with a learning disability.
You will be working within a 24 hour service.
Car driver desirable.
