NHS Borders Estates & Facilities department has a vacancy for a suitably qualified and experienced Facilities Manager to manage and lead a diverse team of staff including; domestics, portering, security, laundry, transport, mail room, mortuary and administration staff across the estate. Current staff compliment of approximately 240 WTE.
You will ensure a safe, effective and efficient service in line with local, regional and national policy and be experienced in managing during periods of change, be able to work with a high degree of autonomy and have the ability to prioritise competing demands. Excellent interpersonal skills teamed with good organisational skills, assertiveness and diplomacy are essential, as well as the ability to communicate clearly and articulately across all levels while supporting the NHS Borders values through the application of appropriate behaviours and attitudes.
The successful candidate must be willing to undergo training and attend training courses etc when required. There is an occasional requirement to work outwith normal hours. (eg. emergency situation). Candidates must possess a full/valid driving licence.
This position will be based at the Borders General Hospital (Melrose) but there will be a requirement to work flexibly across the Scottish Borders region serving acute and primary health care facilities.
