Health Research and EvaluationSpecialist

An opportunity has arisen for a health researcher to support the research, evaluation and trials organisation as part of the delivery of European Interreg innovation projects in which NHS Western Isles are partner.   NHS Western Isles has a track record of involvement in innovation collaboration and are currently partners in Northern Periphery & Arctic (NPA) and the North West Europe (NWE) Interreg programmes which this role will directly support.


The postholder will support the R&I Lead in particularly for the NPA ChatPal and NWE IT4 Anxiety projects.  Both projects aim to support individuals mental wellbeing via the development of a number of digital health solutions informed by the collection, synthesis and analysis of range of evidence of stakeholder and wider community needs in the Western Isles.  Both projects involve collaborations with a range of international partners from Ireland, N. Ireland, Finland, Sweden, France, Belgium and Germany who share similar challenges to the Western Isles.


The postholder will be based within Lews Castle College, University of Highlands & Islands (UHI) for access to research environment.  Postholder will additionally contribute to research network activity inpromoting the growth of the Centre for Rural Health and Social Care, (UHI) including participation in stakeholder workshops, project meetings, seminars and conferences.


This is an ideal opportunity for someone with significant experience in health related research. The candidate should have relevant first degree and specialist postgraduate qualifications. The candidate will have robust knowledge of both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.  You will also require a range of skills in the design and management of research studies. Strong data manipulation and analysis skills will be key element of the role across projects.  You should also be confident in communicating research findings to range of stakeholders both formal and informal settings.
