Please note this is a fixed term post for 12 months. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have had agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.
The postholder will work under the supervision of registered therapy staff to assist patients to achieve their rehabilitation goals, undertaking baseline assessments within clearly defined parameters for the identified service. Through implementing, adapting and progressing treatment programmes within agreed protocols and defined parameters and using specialist technical and practical skills to deliver flexible, patient centred programmes across a variety of clinical settings and discharging or transitioning care within agreed protocols and defined parameters.
The postholder will have a HNC in healthcare, education or social cares or SVQ III in healthcare, education or social care or equivalent experience in a health, education or social care environment, short specialist courses relevant to specific clinical area and a full driving licence holder.
Having an awareness of health legislation relevant to the clinical area, knowledge of the therapeutic process, techniques and / or activities relevant to client group. Basic assessment skill, ability to apply a range of technical and practical rehabilitation skills., effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills., time management, planning and organisational skills.
A working knowledge of basic information technology., the ability to work individually, or as part of a team and the ability to learn and develop new skills and maintain a record of learning.
