We have an exciting opportunity to recruit to a Band 7 Basic Life Support Lead – Partnerships. We are looking for an individual who has the relevant qualifications and valid advanced life support, paediatric immediate life support and instructor certificates (recommended by Resuscitation Council UK) as outlined in the person specification. You will require relevant experience and be able to fulfil the expected CPD requirements associated with this role.
The post will operationally manage all Basic Life Support (BLS) training (and team members) throughout NHSGGC and HSC Partnerships Community Services. You will be expected to provide specialist knowledge, advice and training on all aspects of adult and paediatric resuscitation within NHSGGC and Partnerships Community Services.
The post holder would provide professional advice and consultancy to HSCP’s on all aspects of BLS and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation for both adult and pediatrics. You would be expected to be able to provide specialist knowledge on policy, risk assessment, infection control, equipment purchases and audit.
You would lead, co-ordinate and ensure the delivery of appropriate basic life support training to all staff within HSCPs Community Services and learners.
The role would also include expectations that the post holder will initiate research and implement and monitor robust audit mechanisms for BSL and if required cardiac arrest calls, equipment, DNACPR and training needs analysis, effectiveness of clinical practice and training outcomes. Through the provision of specialist knowledge, advice and guidance on BLS education and related issues for all staff and managers within NHSGGC and Partnerships this post will play a key role in leading and supporting staff training across Partnerships.
As the Lead for BLS there will be an expectation that you will report to NHSGGC Resuscitation Committee, Professional and Clinical Governance groups and Senior Management Teams in NHSGGC and HSC Partnerships. You will be managerially and professionally responsible to a Designated Professional Nurse Lead (Adult Services) and will practice within a legal and ethical framework as designated by your professional body.
The shift pattern for this post is Mon – Fri 9am -5pm
